Dr. Gupta has also served as an empanelled Arbitrator with the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), where he adjudicated numerous domain name disputes. He has successfully defended several NIXI-related cases before the High Court of Karnataka and the City Civil Courts in Bengaluru.
With extensive knowledge of both Indian and international patent laws, Dr. Gupta’s practice focuses on patent specification drafting, global patent prosecution, pre- and post-grant oppositions, revocation proceedings, and contentious IP matters. He regularly appears before the Indian Patent Office, as well as Civil and High Courts in Karnataka, particularly in patent and trademark litigation. He played a pivotal role in securing a favourable order from the Indian Patent Office in a notable compulsory licensing matter involving an anti-cancer product.
In addition to his legal practice, Dr. Gupta has authored several scientific and legal publications in both national and international journals. He is a frequent speaker at IPR conferences and seminars, and is an active member of the Karnataka State Bar Council.
